Some RSS feed basics
The most convenient way to get updates is to subscribe to the RSS ‘feed’ for the site. Don’t know what an RSS feed is? You can click here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aggregator) for detailed information, but basically a feed is a series of updates from a website that keeps you updated with the latest post, information or news from that site. It can be in text format like this website, it can be video like a YouTube ‘vlog’, or an audio ‘podcast’. You can also collect feeds from multiple sites, which is how most people use RSS feeds. A ‘feed aggregator’ is a program that collects the RSS feeds from all the sites you subscribe to, allowing you to read all your feeds in one place. This saves you loads of time you might spend going from site to site.

The feed aggregators listed below work on any computer with an internet connection, and you can also try the software listed here.

Google Reader (this is what I use, it is fantastic)
Firefox, using the Live Bookmarks feature
Sage (a Firefox extension)
Opera internet browser
My Yahoo!
Internet Explorer 7 (I recommend using Firefox only, but if you don’t use it you can at least use Explorer to subscribe to RSS feeds)

Once you get started with a feed aggregator, subscribe to the site using the info at the very top of this page.

Thanks for subscribing, and we’ll see you soon!
